Announcing St. Mary’s CYO 2023 Summer Basketball League
Registration is now underway for the 2023 Ridgefield St. Mary’s Summer Basketball League.
Boys and girls currently attending grades 3rd thru 8th (as of Fall 2023 rising 4th through 9th grades) are eligible to participate. There are no tryouts. The first 40 players registered per division will be accepted for the 2023 CYO Summer League. The deadline to enroll is June 1st. Players must be a resident of the town of Ridgefield or attend St. Mary’s School.
The St. Mary’s CYO summer league is designed to provide competition in a fun and supportive environment. There are no practices and no coaches. Players will organize themselves with the guidance of high school/college volunteers. Parents are invited to watch and enjoy but are not coach or offer instruction during games. Players will play games with their assigned teams. An organizer will be on the sidelines to make substitutions every few minutes. The game scores are kept, so the kids play to win, but standings will not be maintained, nor will a championship be awarded. Each game will have an official referee.
The league will begin on or after June 18th and will run through July 31st. Each team will play ten games. The games take place during weekday evenings from 5pm to 9pm and Sunday’s from 4pm to 9pm (No Saturdays).
